Introduction of the Trash Rack For Hydraulic Engineering
The trash rack is generally set at the water inlet of the unit, mainly to prevent the branches, weeds, floating objects at the water inlet and the water plant from entering the gate, valve and turbine, prevent equipment damage and ensure the normal operation of power generation equipment.
Hydropower stations usually have two trash racks. One is the floating trash rack, which is usually arranged near the upstream of the water inlet and can float up and down with the change of water level; The other is the fixed trash rack (removable), which is usually arranged at the water inlet.
During operation, the sundries on the trash rack shall be cleaned in time to reduce the loss of water energy and prevent the sundries from crushing the trash rack. Check and repair the trash rack in combination with the overhaul and shutdown of the unit, including whether the trash rack frame and bar fall off, deform and open welding, whether the zinc coating or paint on the metal surface falls off and rusts, and carry out anti-corrosion treatment in time according to the actual situation. It is generally maintained every 3 ~ 5 years.
The trash rack is mainly used to intercept the dirt such as branches, weeds and plastic garbage in the waterway. It is mainly used in urban sewage treatment, tap water industry, diversion canal, urban sewage, paper mill, leather factory, grit chamber and other scenes
